Matt Schimsky is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. He started his business, Tuff Pup Training, in Philly in 2007 where he offers one-on-one, in-home dog training programs. Tuff Pup Training now grown to having 4 certified dog trainers and offers positive reinforcement, fear-free training programs to all areas of Philadelphia. Matt is also an official mentor for the students of CATCH Canine Trainers Academy.

Matt is passionate about humane training methods grounded in behavioral science. He offers a hands-on, supportive coaching approach to training and behavior modification programs. In 2022 he created the Philadelphia Ethical Pet Professionals, a website and local dog trainer directory to help local pet families better navigate the unregulated industry when searching for a trainer to hire.

Matt now lives in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia with his wife Lauren, his sons Owen and Leo, and his cats Howl and Detective Tutuola. Matt’s newest pup is Gus, a boxer/Akita/collie mix.
